FAQ

  • What is your success rate at matching tiles?

We match to the exact tile approximately 70% of the time when a sample tile is provided with accurate dimensions. The other 30% of the time we often have a good alternative tile that will solve your problem.

  • What's the best way to match my Tile?

We require you to provide us with a sample piece of your tile. This can be a broken piece or spare tile you may have laying around. Most customers will have tiles that will be replaced or removed to complete the job. Please ask your tradesman to keep a sample of any tiles they may break during their work. We also need to know the minimum amount of tiles required, followed by the exact size to the nearest millimetre.

  • I don't have a spare or broken tile?

If you are serious about finding the closest possible match, there are two ways that can work without a sample tile. Option 1 - Remove a tile out of plain sight, for example under your dishwasher or in the pantry, behind the washing machine etc.
Option 2 - A good quality printed photo of the tile. A photo wont show the true colour or thickness so we will need to find that out. You can do this using paint cards from Bunnings, find some colour swatches that match the colour of your tile and include that with your printed picture of your tile. Please include tile sizes and amounts required with your sample.

  • Can I send you a picture of my tile?

Pictures alone do not work, we find the only way we can match or find a similar tile is from a good quality printed photo of your tile in a good natural light. We need to know the exact size to the nearest millimetre and we need a tangible colour reference of the colours in your tile. You can get colour sample cards from your hardware store that match the colours of your tile. Please bring these to our store with your printed picture and amount of tiles required and we will try to find something that is close to your tile. Please note that pictures do not always get acurate results for tile matching, a tile sample is always reccommended over a photo.

  • How can i get my sample to the tile library?

You can either bring your tile sample to our store in person or via Australia post to Unit 4, Number 25 Collingwood Street, Osborne Park WA 6017.

When preparing to give us your sample tile, please include the following
1: exact size of your tile to the nearest millimetre
2:the minimum amount of tile required to solve your problem.
3: Either a sample of your tile whole or broken, or a good quality printed picture with paint sample card references that match the colour of your tile.

  • Tips for DIY Sample Tile removal

    1. Make sure to cut the grout around the tile you are removing from the remaining good tiles. If you don’t do this, you may damage the remaining good tiles.

    2. With a hammer and masonry chisel or even a flat head screw driver, whack away at the tile from the base where the tile is adhered to the wall or floor.

    3. Chisel up and down where the tiles base adheres to the wall and floor until the tile starts to lift. Once its out, bring it to our store or send it to us via Australia post.

  • Do you provide Postage and Packaging Australia wide?

Yes we can provide postage and packaging, for standard sized orders we use Australia post or if you wish to use your own courier please arrange this with us at your time of purchase.

  • Why is knowing the minimum amount of tiles important?

When you tell us the number of tiles you need, we will ignore any tiles in our inventory that don’t have the required amount of tiles to solve your problem. This is an issue because if you give us an amount that accounts for extra spare tiles or tiles for cuts, we may be ignoring options that could have been far closer. Please always tell us the bare minimum you need to solve the problem but of course we are happy to provide more tiles if we have them.
